VISION
During the drum corps off-season, a handful of enthusiastic people descended upon the annual
DCI Pacific conference with a lofty proclamation
of starting a NEW drum corps!
Out
of the five representatives who made that claim, only one Director is still standing
with his full corps.
That would be Director, Dr. Don Flaherty who formed
GOLD DRUM & BUGLE CORPS in January 2005.
MISSION
Hawthorne Gold Drum & Bugle Corps is dedicated to giving students
the performance, work,
and life
skills necessary to succeed in our modern world.
Dedication, loyalty, and honesty are the virtures that the Corps promotes.
Achievement through perseverance and teamwork are the qualities that define
Gold Drum Corps.
Gold gives our
neighborhood youth a superior music acitivity
and
prepares them for participation in a World Class corps.
OBJECTIVE
Our objective is to foster a program that services
both our kids,
by exposing them
to the DCI experience,
and the
DCI community at large,
by
creating a training ground for future World Class musicians.
